Sometimes this world is disheartening. I look around and see horrible things; broken families, struggling churches, crumbling marriages, and a lot of hurting, angry people. I find myself wondering where God is in the midst of these awful circumstances. I standby crying out "WHY?!" Then the thought enters my mind, "what am I doing to bring hope to this broken world, these hurting people, these lost souls?" I sit here and complain about all these tragedies happening around me, begging God to show up.. When He's been there the whole time, living inside of ME (& everyone else who has trusted Him as their Savior).
I think we have become weak as Christians, hiding from the world and separating ourselves from it because they don't follow our rules & adhere to our beliefs. The world is just so... sinful. Sin makes us uncomfortable, so we boycott and bash and strike anything and everything that offends us. Why though? Sin should make us uncomfortable, it doesn't mesh well with the light inside of us. It's a good thing because it's proof of the Holy Spirit inside of us.
God didn't plan for us to live a comfortable life in our Christian communities living in a bubble separate from the world. He put us into the world for a reason, to go and teach, love, disciple the lost and hurting, get out of our comfort zones, & do whatever it takes to spread His name, even if that means suffering from loss or pain.
Why do we condemn sinners to hell when that's is where they are already headed? We stand safe in our churches pointing fingers instead of breaking down the walls of the church and going to meet people where they are right now & showing them what unconditional love looks like.
We have the power of Jesus Christ living inside of us!! Does that not mean anything to us as believers anymore? We are forgiven. We are loved. We are redeemed. We know where we are going when this life ends. What is there to fear? We have nothing to lose but the privilege to gain brothers and sisters in Christ! It's not our job to make sinners stop sinning, but it is our job to show love and speak the truth of the Gospel.
This world is not getting better friends, it's getting worse everyday and we have to stop talking about what's not going right and start being the right in the world. We need to be saturated in the Word of God so that its words may be poured out everywhere we go.
There is nothing in this world that God has not already overcome. We have nothing to fear except not bringing as many people to heaven with us as possible. We can't do that by distancing ourselves from the darkness, we have to walk straight in the deepest, darkest depths and shine so brightly the love of Jesus. Stay strong friends, remember the grace & love shown to us for our sins and pour it out onto everyone.
“And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.” 2 Timothy 2:24-26 ESV
Here is the beauty of this.. God didn't need us to be a part of His plan to help win souls to His kingdom, but He allows us to carry the most precious gift created to those who don't have it. We get the honor of telling people how to experience the God we get to walk with each and everyday. That's pretty amazing.
