Sometimes God allows us to see the divine plan He’s entwining in our seemingly chaotic lives. I’ve heard the story of our lives is like a tapestry and while God sees the beautiful picture from above, we get the see the underside of the tapestry with the criss-crossed and dangling strings that look like a mess! And sometimes, life is messy.
This week I found myself reflecting on a situation that appeared random but in hindsight was grandly orchestrated to the point I felt like a chess piece. Maneuvered to be in a certain place, to have a specific conversation, to meet a special need.
“I just had this overwhelming sense that God is strategic in our lives when we allow Him to move us… and even if we don’t.” I texted my friend.
“There is no such thing as coincidence for the followers of Christ. Makes me want to rest in that belief, not strive,” was the reply.
“Christ-incidence.” I learned that word from another wise friend many years ago. I’ve been able to use that word confidently knowing God’s timing is perfect as is His will.
In that moment, I was able to see the tapestry from above looking at the beautiful colors and designs of how my life is interwoven with so many different people from different walks of life; and I was awe struck. May we take comfort this Monday in knowing God’s got this.
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you… Jeremiah 1:5a
For you formed my inward parts;you knitted me together in my mother's womb. Psalm 139:13
