I was perusing ETSY.com recently and realized that some of you may not know what ETSY is or how enjoyable it could be. Let me tell you about this website. ETSY is a place where people can sell and purchase items, whether they be homemade, vintage, or craft supplies...you name, it's there.
Let me walk you through a few things so that you can go shopping. First type in ETSY.com in your browser section. This is a must, only if you want to shop at the most amazing shops. Second, you need to decide what is your need. Are you looking for a costume, a piece of unique jewelry, some beads, or even a wedding or baby gift? There is a search area that will list several shops connected to you particular need. I recently was searching for mermaid/dolphin birthday invitations. If you're not sure how detailed to be, I would start generic and then add detail. For instance, you could type in birthday invitations. You will see thousands upon thousands of listed invites, so then you'll need to add more detail wording.
Once you find something you like, there is a little heart that you can click on. They will ask you to sign up for an account if you haven't already. Anytime you click on a heart, ETSY will save the item into a Favorites folder. You can even assign a special folder for that item you are interested in. For instance I could name a folder "daughter's birthday", I could look at invitations, and presents and have them all in one folder. When you settle on the one you want, click on it so you can view it. There will be the sellers information listed along with the dimensions of the item you are purchasing and the shipping cost, if there is one. When you are ready to purchase your item, click on the green button that says "add to cart". There, ETSY will ask you how you want to pay. There is the basic choices as well as Pay Pal. The seller usually lists when you should receive the item. Sometimes the seller has the item made and ready and sometime they create the item after you purchase it. Look for the fine print. I have posted photos of some items I've purchased through ETSY.
I really do enjoy looking at other people's creations. It is truly inspiring. Let's go shopping!
