Week 2 of this study entitled, "Approach Truth," tosses out the question, "Can I trust the Bible as sure footing for even my uncertain feet?"
I had to take a moment and process my answer to that question, because the Bible is perfect, inspired by God Himself—and I'm me—not perfect, flawed, messed up, and sinful.
But the authors reminded me of 2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Sufficient grace that is perfect in my messed up, flawed self? Yes, please.
The week goes on to discuss the importance of approaching God's Word reverently, confidently, regularly, and prayerfully.
I am reminded through Scripture that I am a free, loved, child of the Living God, clothed in righteousness and because of Jesus, stand not condemned, but as a new creation. Therefore, I can approach the Word of God boldly and with confidence.
